Real Life Looks Like a Video Game?
I was reading a review on anandtech.com when I stumbled upon a picture of TV capture and was brought back by how much it looks like Madden or any other video game.
Look up in the upper left corner, it says CBS. I doubt a game is sponsored or licenced with CBS. Additionally, the other screen captures in the anandtech review look real.
So I say a first for me, “almost looks fake”. What gives.

Big fat blog
http://www.bigfatblog.com/ is a blog about being fat and fat people’s rights. Wow. Outside of any serious medical problem, I have no sympathy for people who don’t want to excercise or be active.
I’m no doctor, I’m an engineer so I take a practical solution approach. Here are my thoughts if I suddenly became overweight.
- Drinking slows down metabolisim, I’d lay off the drinky. Especially beer.
- Diet of little meat, don’t need all that protein.
- I’d run if possible. If not, bike. If for some reason I can’t do any of that, isometrics.
- I’d drink coffee. Fidgeting burns calories and coffee reduces appetite.
- No soda.
- Soy milk.
- No sweets.
- Engage the mind. The brain burns more energy than anything else. Watch PBS, read books, play intelligent video games, email people, read blogs, listen to NPR. Engage the mind.
I know it’s hard (not first hand) and my practicality might seem insensitive. I just hate the celebrating aspect of bigfatblog.com and would rather fix the problem or at least suggest solutions. Same would be true if I ran into www.IamPunchingMyHealth-Ow.com, which thankfully…I haven’t yet.

Normally, this would merit a chuckle at our not-so-suave-in-chief, but the phrase “exit strategy” just seems to fly out of everyone’s mouth. Now, I’m not one to try and draw some parallel between Iraq and this event, but this just strikes me as a Gerald Ford falling down the airplane stairs moment.

I wave my optimisism around like a flag of Atlantis before its eventual and assumed downfall. The buyer’s market is dead. Long live the buyer’s market.

Design Envy
Once again, I run into a series of great looking webpages that make me green, sad and angry. One, some seem to extend off of existing blog systems. Two, their graphics design is really impressive in some cases. I’m not as good as them for sure.

Like many of the quotables, some just stick in your head and affect all other things. Multiball, blurns = baseball game. Video game episode where the Space Invaders come down. Magical ring episode and the New Justice Team.
Leela : “How did we manage to survive? What gave us those strange powers?”
