Sharkknife

Great comic, sharkknife. It’s got that real down-to-earth humor that affords easy quoting. Pivot!
The action is non-stop. There is some dialog, but for the most part, this is a fight book. Some frames I can’t even tell where the hero’s ass and the enemies face begin. Other frames, it’s a cinematic inspiration piece: “They should make this book into a movie!”. But then I retract my statement.
A movie would only ruin it.
Hee, hee. There’s this one part where the hero has gotten knocked down and the villian robot-thing is eating pineapples (apparently it loves pineapples) and this guy yells out, “He’s eating the pineapple bar!”. The tongue in cheek humor really comes off nicely. Like a neo-Godzilla movie. “Godzillra! He’s eating the pineapple bar! Save us Superman! Godzillra! NOoooo!” *fists to sky*
I read some of the other comics from this publisher, were good. I’m not some comic book nerd, just good artwork, good reads and it’s not some Vampire story. *sigh*
I think penny-arcade has really done something for its sales. PA is mentioned on their storefront (and that’s where I heard about it). Good for them.

I to enjoy this comic – very stylized. I would say it must take them days to place out and draw this but then I remember there are those people in this world with talent who can draw stuff like this on the back of a wet cocktail napkin. Asleep. With their hands tied up. And needles in their eyes.
I have recently taken affection to (wow – GHEY) SNAFU Comics. sanfu-comics.com I think. The art is for the most part less polished than say VGCats or even PA – but the content is there and they have an amusing way of mixing styles between even the same frames/panels. They also use a lot of flattering mimic from ‘everyone else’ (every style was stolen/adapted from something else) to suit the purpose of the ‘message’.
I could see Sharknife becoming a DBZ-style flash meme. The only ‘problem’ is adding color would ruin it. Needs to stay B&W. But not B&W2, because despite the amazing gfx and added functions, it wasn’t nearly as revolutionary as the original. *tangent*
