I have a lot of video games to finish.
Nothing is more boring than watching people watch TV. Have you ever watched someone staring at the tube? The glazed look, the dropped jaw … it’s really sad. But brought to you by Nissan! We’ll be right back. Similarly, nothing is probably as boring as reading blogs about video games. Change the channel if you can. Bloop. Pfffffffffft [static]
Everything I’m Playing Now
Grand Theft Auto: Vice City
Somewhere along the way, this game got pushed down on my interest list. Now it’s back. I believe absolutely everything to do with my frustration is centered around the damn ambulance missions. To quote from the last link to the left:
Two things are important when mentally preparing to take on Paramedic. First, make sure you have a heavy weapon with plenty of ammo. Preferably a rocket launcher, but a flamethrower, chaingun, or even the M4/M16 will do in a pinch. Second, don’t forget your Zen consciousness.
My god, ain’t that the truth. The guide goes on to say “Adopt a meditative technique” and other Zen-like advice. Very funny to those who have finished the paramedic trials, unfunny to those still doing it.
I’m only 20% done with Vice City.
Final Fantasy X-2
An iffy sequel to FFX. Gameplay is good, dresspheres and dancing is not. It’s a very girly game that puts a fashion type spin on the common Bard RPG class. Meh. I’m just trying to get through it. No 100% end-all completion on this one. I did that with X.
I’m on chapter 2 (25% done or so).
Final Fantasy 11
The game that never ends. I’m a level 52 white mage, 32 black mage, 22 red mage and other boring low level things. I’ve spent $166 total on 8 months of subscription fees and software purchases. I’ve played for 800 hours. That’s nearly 10 months of a full time job. This means in 8 months I’ve actually been playing this game more than working. Amazing.
This game ends when you get sick of it. I’m nearly sick of it. Every item is not an end-all item. No mission makes you feel as though you are done and Square-Enix continues to draw you in so you don’t quit. This is the 1st and probably last MMORPG I ever play. With that mindset and all this time invested, it’s hard to quit. This game is very brutal on people’s personal lives (mostly because there’s no pause button). When I quit, it will not be a happy experience.
It never ends.
UPDATED: I quit.
Half Life 2
This game is so easy to play. Fun, exciting, makes time fly by. I’ll finish this easy. Dunno how far I am.
Probably 60% done.
Zelda Wind Waker
Finally made some progress on this. I’ve got the boat now. I’m going for “finish” on this game and not “completion”. Painful, not really into it.
Probably 15% done.
Xenosaga
Bought it, never started it. Looks great. I’m such a consumer. Was in the middle of FFX when I got it. I’m not starting this until all other things are done.

Super Mario Sunshine
Keep falling off the sliding/surfing levels. This is a fun platform game. Bright, cheerful, looks good. I think I have 12 or so ‘shines’. This is likely to take a long time.
20% done
Paper Mario
Just started it. Lots of fun. Leveling up is slow but accessible.
5% done
Baldur’s Gate 2
Been playing this co-op with a friend. We’ve got the save games burned. Been playing this for 2 years or so. We will get through it. I think we’re on Ch.4. Not sure.
50% done of 7 chapters
Halo 2
Only fun as co-op. Going to complete with a friend. I have no XBox.
